Here is what the families we work with have to say…

I am so grateful my insurance covered this - but even if it didn't, it would have been worth it. Leora was amazing!

My first experience with a lactation consultant was at the hospital after delivery. They were fine but their methods felt very aggressive (smashing baby's face to boob, forceful hand expressing, etc). It was unpleasant and also very short. After that experience I assumed all consultants would be the same. Leora proved me wrong.

The office is clean, warm and welcoming. Booking online was incredibly easy and their team was incredibly responsive within 24 hours.

I was already in a vulnerable mental state re: breastfeeding. I left every session with Leora feeling like a weight had been lifted and much more optimistic. I never felt judged for how little I was nursing and she gave me tips on how to enjoy the experience even if I wasn't producing enough. In two sessions I felt like I had been empowered to make my own choices without feeling like a terrible mother. She gave us tips on other things unrelated to nursing like bottle feeding (which after a day already improved our baby's gassiness). We never felt pressured to buy anything or continue with more sessions

I wish every new mom could experience this!

“I am so grateful I found The Breastfeeding Center when I did. I was so close to just giving up when Leora came highly recommended by my dentist friend. She came to my home and took her time. She found my baby’s tongue tie even when the doctor insisted she didn’t have one! I knew she may and Leora not only confirmed it but recommended doctors and offices for treatment and even bodywork. After having the procedure done, I booked a follow-up in her beautiful office and thanks to her guidance baby girl and I are beginning our journey to breastfeeding without a nipple shield. Thank you so much Leora! For your knowledge, patience and encouragement.”

“As a new mom, I initially found myself overwhelmed with many aspects of motherhood. Leaving the hospital I knew I wanted to breastfeed but I was not knowledgeable about breastfeeding. They helped me with my general anxieties as a first time mother in addition to breastfeeding assistance and counseling. The team was very professional and had a calm energy that was very reassuring.  They are available for home visits as well as emails, which were very helpful. Kind and nurturing character, along with knowledge, helped me work through my breastfeeding fears and challenges.  I am so grateful for their guidance and support.”

“I couldn't have asked for a more compassionate, responsive, and caring lactation consultant. She is not only patient, knowledgable, and personable, but she also has tips that WORK! Thank you for everything. I recommend you to all of my friends and family!”

“The Breastfeeding Center was so helpful in guiding me on my breastfeeding journey.  I had a lot of trouble in the first weeks with latching and milk production but they were there every step of the way advising on what to do and supporting me.  I'm now happily nursing my almost 5 month old and we are doing so great thanks to the team.

I recently attended the mama's milk club support group and really enjoyed the session, meeting other mamas, asking breastfeeding questions, doing a weighted feed and just the overall environment. Thank you for all of your support with my baby and my boobies!”

“Marion was so wonderful to work with. We did an in home session and she arrived promptly and we got straight to work. She is a great listener, and made me feel heard, and asked great questions to really understand how we got to where we were and our goals for the future. It was also very clear that she had very thoroughly reviewed our intake form as she was already very familiar with our situation which made the visit very efficient and effective. She gave me practical and actionable advice, and most valuable of all, optimism, hope, courage as well as encouragement. Her follow up notes were extremely detailed and helpful for our situation. Thank you, Marion!”

“Leora is an amazing lactation consultant! She helped me during the early breastfeeding weeks. My baby was an extremely sleepy baby and was not up to birth weight by two weeks old. When I gave Leora a call, I was breastfeeding, pumping and supplementing. I was overwhelmed! Leora did a full assessment including an oral evaluation and weighted feeds. We worked together to set up a nursing plan. Over the next few weeks she patiently worked with us doing in home feed sessions until we were able to exclusively breastfeed.  Having her come to my home was wonderful, especially for a sleep deprived mom! She addressed my concerns about my daughter gaining weight by positively reassuring me that she was doing great nursing. So many times I was about to give up but she constantly reassured me. By the time my daughter was six weeks old, she was exclusively breastfeeding!

My daughter is now three months old and our breastfeeding journey is going strong. She is knowledgeable and answered ALL my questions I had. Leora was quick to respond to my calls or text. Recently I experienced a few plugged ducts. I gave Leora and call and she made a few recommendations over the phone and within a day of implementing her recommendations I felt so much better! I liked that I was working one-on-one with her.  She is so thoughtful that even after she knew we were doing great breastfeeding, she would still check on us to see if I needed any help! Her love of the work really shows in how she treats her clients. Definitely would recommend her to friends and family!

“Im so grateful I found Leora! She was available for a same-day appointment for this desperate, new mama on short notice. I had already seen the lactation consultant at my birth hospital a couple times, but felt i still needed specific, tailored, hands-on help, instead of the more general advice I was hearing. Leora’s in-home visit was just that— I highly recommend it! She was sweet, empathetic, and encouraging, but what i appreciated most was the specific recommendations and opinions she shared for every question i had (again, instead of giving a more generic answer). I had a ton of questions, even about things like pacifier use, bottle feeding and breastfeeding in public, and all her answers were so helpful. One of my favorite parts of having her in my home was the opportunity for her to show me different nursing positions i had been wanting to learn, like side-lying on my bed. As an aside, her recommendation for me to try a baby carrier was a game changer - I had been discouraged that my baby hated fabric wraps but she encouraged me to try our ergo with an infant insert, and turns out our baby loves it!!! I would have put off trying it if it wasn’t for her, and now its my go-to for soothing baby when he’s fussy. Per Leora’s suggestion, I’m also looking forward to nurse hi in it :) The peace of mind a new mama will get after spending time with her is worth every penny. Thank you, Leora!!!”
